Objective: The aim is to know how a binding workshop, conducted by occupational therapists, influences the behaviour of patients with severe mental disorder, from the perspective of the Model of Human Occupation by Gary Kielhofner and group therapy. Method: A qualitative investigation was carried out based on a self-developed survey for all users of the bookbinding workshop. Results: The answers are shown an evidence that the regular participation in the workshop, is to say, to have an activity, imply the development of a daily routine, habits and the creation of roles (friends, mates) and, in many cases, it supports the relationships not only inside the workshops but also outside. On another hand, the own difficulties of a mental pathology brings to light making more complicated to develop all the goals named before. Conclusions: The binding workshop can be defined as a theatre or a staging of a person's life. The difficulties and the ways to act are repeated in both places either in they own personalities or diseases. The role of the therapist is to analyse in order to facilitate their own understanding to the user and if they consider it, the change of it.
